In astrology, the Moon represents our mind, emotions, habits, and inner reactions. While both Vedic Astrology and Lal Kitab use the Moon for analysis, Lal Kitab follows a completely different approach to prepare the Moon Chart, known as the Lal Kitab Chandra Kundli.
Unlike the Vedic Chandra Kundli, which simply places the Moon in the first house for predictive analysis, Lal Kitab creates a special Moon Chart using its own house system. This chart is designed to uncover the hidden emotional and karmic patterns that influence everyday life.
Rather than focusing mainly on future events, the Lal Kitab Chandra Kundli helps explain why certain problems repeat and what practical remedies can help reduce their impact.
The Lal Kitab Chandra Kundli is primarily used to study the emotional and practical side of life. It helps astrologers understand how a person's mental patterns and karmic tendencies affect different areas of life.
This chart is commonly used to analyse:
Instead of concentrating on the timing of events through Mahadasha and Antardasha, Lal Kitab focuses on identifying the root cause of recurring problems and providing simple, practical remedies.
Preparing a Lal Kitab Chandra Kundli is different from creating a traditional Vedic Moon Chart. Follow these steps carefully.
Begin with your Vedic Birth Chart (Lagna Kundli). This will serve as the foundation for creating the Lal Kitab Chandra Kundli.
Unlike the Vedic Chandra Kundli, do not shift the Ascendant. The Lagna remains exactly where it is in the original birth chart.
This is one of the biggest differences between the two systems.
Now move the Moon to the First House (Ascendant).
After placing the Moon in the first house, reposition all the remaining planets according to their house positions from the Moon.
At this stage, a new planetary arrangement is created while the original Lagna remains unchanged.
Once the planetary positions are adjusted, identify Aries (Mesha Rashi) in the chart.
Aries now becomes the reference point for assigning house numbers.
Start counting the houses from Aries as House 1.
Continue numbering each subsequent sign until House 12 is completed.
This house numbering follows the Lal Kitab method rather than the traditional Vedic system.
After completing the above process, the resulting chart becomes the Lal Kitab Chandra Kundli.
This is the chart used in Lal Kitab for deeper analysis of emotional behaviour, karmic influences, recurring life problems, and the practical remedies recommended to balance planetary energies.
Although both charts are based on the Moon, their purpose is different.
The Vedic Chandra Kundli is mainly used for understanding the results of planetary periods (Mahadasha and Antardasha), transits, and predictive astrology.
The Lal Kitab Chandra Kundli, on the other hand, is centred on emotional karma, behavioural patterns, hidden obstacles, and remedial astrology. It helps explain why similar situations keep repeating and what corrective actions can be taken to improve life.
The Lal Kitab Chandra Kundli is a unique and powerful chart that goes beyond predicting events. It helps reveal the emotional, karmic, and behavioural patterns that shape a person's experiences.
By following its distinctive method of chart preparation, Lal Kitab provides a practical way to understand recurring challenges in areas such as family, finances, health, and relationships. Most importantly, it connects these patterns with simple remedies, making it one of the most practical tools in Lal Kitab astrology for self-understanding and personal growth.
